A computer science engineer who ended up running supply chains.

I grew up inside international trade. My family exports organic agricultural produce out of Indore — soybean, soymeal, pulses, seeds, spices, grains — to the USA, Europe and the Gulf. I saw shipping documents before I saw a textbook on them.

What actually caught me, though, was the automation in my father's office. That is what sent me into a computer science degree rather than straight into the family business. At Medicaps I ran the Innovation Cell and built things that had to work in the physical world — a flash-flood detection system for local picnic spots after people died there, an automatic irrigation rig for farmers who could not stand in a field all day, voice-controlled home automation on a self-built mobile app.

Then I put that degree straight back into the family operation. I built an in-house SCM platform in Excel-VBA and SQL that digitised procurement through shipping, and a supplier-risk dashboard off historical data. That was the first time the engineering and the supply chain were the same job. It has been the pattern ever since.

UT Dallas came next — an M.S. in Management Science specialising in supply chain, deliberately chosen because it let me keep one foot in technical subjects and one in managerial ones. The Google capstone on global COVID-19 vaccine distribution was the clearest version of the combination: a genuine logistics problem solved by integrating and optimising software.

Since 2021 the work has been Fortune 500 planning transformation — Johnson & Johnson, then EY across Hoboken and Noida. Advanced planning systems: OMP, Kinaxis RapidResponse, SAP. I moved from analyst to workstream lead to delivery and rollout lead, and I now own the plan, the risks and the release readiness on multi-region go-lives.

The part that makes this combination unusual: when a programme needs an agent to triage its incident backlog, or a retrieval pipeline over its configuration documentation, I do not raise a request with a technical team. I build it, ship it, and it goes into the programme. The CS degree stopped being background in 2023 and started being the differentiator.
